Gold Buttons salutes at Kilcoy

Jun 08, 2014

Murphy Racing headed to Kilcoy last Thursday in hope of a winning double. The first race on the cards was a 800 metre maiden in which flashy filly Gold Buttons took it out in impressive fashion.

In only her third race ride back from a stint on the sidelines, Donna Carrigg jumped Gold Buttons out of the machines and went straight to the front with blistering speed. From there on in they were never going to catch this fast little filly scoring a comfortable victory by 2.8 lengths and giving Donna her first winner back. Donna has been doing a great job with Gold Buttons in her trackwork which makes her hard work even more rewarding.

The other runner for Murphy Racing, Harniliam got no favours during the running being trapped 3 wide with no cover the entire race. It was a very big effort for him to go on and come second only being beaten a neck.

Congratulations to Gold Buttons owner Santo Guagliardo who will taste victory more than once with this filly.

Also a congratulations to Harniliams owner Roy Henzell who is looking forward to bigger and better things with this horse.
