Gold Buttons romps in at the Gold Coast

Feb 01, 2015

On Saturday 31st of January Murphy Racing headed to the gold Coast in the hope of a winner. That wish was granted when the Santo Guagliardo owned Gold Buttons recorded her 2nd win.

Speedy mossman filly Gold Buttons contested the Super Sports Centre class 1 handicap over 900 metres. Drawing the inside alley, Buttons jumped in front of the pack and and maintained a healthy lead until the turn where senior rider Bobby El-lissa said "lets go", she then opened up with a blistering turn of foot to put 5 lengths on them and at the 100 metre mark El-Lissa elected to ease her down to win very comfortably under a hold by 2 lengths.

It is clear that Buttons ran a quicker last 600 metres the this years Bat out of Hell winner which is known to be Gold Coasts fastest run race. This is an incredible statistic and is testament to David for having this filly spot on and in the best condition week in week out.

A big congratulations to owner Santo Guagliardo!!
